Voted Herald Times Best of Bloomington Dog Daycare 2022-2024. Accepting new clients. Anchor 1 Anchor 2 Hybrid Camp Staff Recomended Program Half-day in our structured enrichment based daycare program, Day Camp 2.0, and two one-on-one mentally and physically fulfilling enrichments with a camp counselor helping to develop basic obedience, confidence, and impulse control skills that translate to better behaviors everywhere. our other daycare programs Transforming our Industry Meet our Co-Founders: Allison Jacobs & Kristen Perrus Allison's dogs, Scout and June, were kicked out of daycare at the facility Kristen managed. Kristen explained to Allison how dog daycare worked: there were sometimes 30 dogs in each play yard with one human to supervise the whole pack. The dogs at daycare were getting less stimulation than Allison was giving her dogs are home. Kristen explained to Allison that she tried to get her boss to allow them to incorporate enrichment into daycare, similar to zoos, but they thought it wasn't worth the extra expense. Allison and Kristen grew to become close friends while Allison grew her in-home pet sitting business. They volunteered for a non-profit dog rescue together fostering, training, and rehoming over 70 dogs together. In August of 2020 Kristen quit her job out of frustration: she couldn't make an impact on the well-being of the animals in her care under boss. Kristen drove to Allison's house afterwards to discuss what she was going to do next. Allison and Kristen decided to use their excess free time the pandemic provided them to expand Allison's in-home business together into facility services. Allison and Kristen's business model quickly gained international attention. They pushed the dog daycare industry forward by taking better care of animals and the humans caring for them. In their time outside of Scout's Honor, Allison and Kristen speak at international conferences educating their peers on the benefits of enrichment for animals, business, and employees. "A new and improved breed of daycare emerge that structures the dog’s day, provides them with useful activities and helps them leave better than when they started coming. That’s what enrichment daycare can do. It’s the future of this business." -Ov erD og Digital Listen to Allison's interview on the Overdog Podcast our other award-winning daycare programs day camp 2.0 solo camp play & train Our next-level enrichment program designed to give dogs a balanced mix of play, learning, and rest. Each camp day includes small-group socialization, confidence-building activities, and skill-based games tailored to your dog’s personality and needs. Dogs participate in pack enrichment activities such as agility, bubbles, gate manners, and positive-reinforcement training in basic obedience exercises, all in between supervised group play with packs no larger than 15 dogs per human. With a focus on mental stimulation, positive reinforcement, and structured fun, Day Camp 2.0 helps dogs thrive both physically and emotionally so they go home tired, happy, and fulfilled. Note: Most dogs don't enjoy all day group play just like most humans don't enjoy 8 hour parties with their best friends. Designed for dogs who prefer individual attention over full-day group play or are working on specific behavioral goals. Each dog enjoys one-on-one enrichment sessions with a trained staff member, featuring activities like agility, scent work, bubbles, and puzzle games. Dogs may participate in small or large group play in short and structured intervals allowing for safe socialization and confidence-building at their own pace. Small or large group play enrichments require management approval. When not in play or enrichment, dogs relax in comfortable, low-stimulation environments to promote calmness and balance. This program provides mental and physical engagement without the overwhelm of a traditional daycare setting, helping dogs grow confident, happy, and fulfilled. Scout’s Honor Play & Train blends structured learning with enriching fun. Dogs enjoy a half day of Fear Free, positive-reinforcement training led by independently certified trainers focusing on manners, confidence, and real-life skills tailored to each dog.
